The Kingston Agricultural Society exists ‘to showcase and facilitate participation in, and enjoyment of, agricultural and rural pursuits, and to foster community engagement’.
Located at Church Parade (also known as Werona-Kingston Road), Kingston, the Kingston show grounds have been used for many years by community groups as well as providing the venue for various shows and events. The grounds and facilities can be hired by any one for a reasonable fee. They feature a 1902 Victorian Heritage Listed Grandstand from which the arena and surrounding hills can be viewed. Other buildings include an amenities block (including facilities for disabled persons), a canteen/clubhouse and the Morrish Pavilion.
The town ship of Kingston has an active CFA but no longer supports a school or shops. It was once the location of the Creswick Shire Office and today presents as an attractive place to live with a beautiful Avenue of Honour containing 200+ trees as you enter from the south.
